Ingredients

Main Ingredients
  • 3/4 cup chocolate (melted and cooled to room temperature) Use quality chocolate for best flavor.
  • 1 cup Greek yogurt Adds moisture and richness.
  • 2 tablespoons Greek yogurt Part of the total yogurt amount.
  • 1/2 tsp vanilla extract
  • 1/2 cup sugar Can be reduced for a lower-calorie option.
  • 3/4 cup flour (preferably King Arthur all-purpose flour)
  • 1/2 cup cocoa powder (sifted to remove lumps) Sifting is crucial for a smooth batter.
  • 1/4 tsp baking soda
  • 1/4 tsp salt
  • 1/2 cup milk Helps to thin the batter.
  • 1 cup chocolate chips (optional) For an extra chocolate burst.

Method

Preparation
  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease a baking pan or line it with parchment paper to prevent sticking.
  2. In a mixing bowl, combine the melted chocolate with the Greek yogurt until fully integrated. Add the vanilla extract and sugar, mixing until you achieve a smooth consistency.
  3. In another bowl, whisk together the flour, cocoa powder, baking soda, and salt. Make sure to sift the cocoa powder to avoid lumps for a smoother batter.
  4. Gradually fold the dry ingredients into the wet mixture. Be careful not to overmix, as the batter will thicken as you combine.
  5. Stir in the milk gently to thin down the batter slightly, ensuring it’s easier to pour and gains a glossy sheen.
  6. If you’re using chocolate chips, fold them evenly into the batter for an extra chocolate burst.
  7. Pour the batter into the prepared pan, spreading it out evenly. Bake for about 25-30 minutes. You’ll know they’re done when a toothpick inserted into the center comes out with a few moist crumbs clinging to it.
  8. Let the brownies cool in the pan for 10-15 minutes before transferring them to a wire rack to cool completely.

Notes

Tips for Best Results: Use quality chocolate, check for doneness, cool completely for easier cutting, sift cocoa powder, and consider adding toppings like sea salt or nuts.
