Ganache Ingredients
  • 1 cup heavy cream
  • 8 ounces chocolate, chopped

Method
 

Preparation
  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease a cake pan with a light dusting of flour.
  2. In a large bowl, mix the flour, sugar, cocoa powder, baking soda, and salt until well combined.
  3. In another bowl, whisk together the vegetable oil, water, vanilla extract, and vinegar until fully combined.
  4. Pour the wet ingredients into the dry ingredients and mix gently to achieve a smooth batter, being careful not to overmix.
  5. Transfer the batter into the prepared cake pan, spreading it evenly.
Baking
  1. Bake for 30 to 35 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.
  2. Remove the cake from the oven and allow it to cool completely in the pan on a wire rack.
Ganache Preparation
  1. In a saucepan, heat the heavy cream over medium heat until it just starts to boil.
  2. Pour the hot cream over the chopped chocolate in a bowl and stir until smooth and glossy.

  1. Once the cake is completely cooled, pour the ganache over the top, allowing it to drizzle down the sides.
