- In a microwave-safe mug, mix together the flour, granulated sugar, baking powder, milk, vegetable oil, and vanilla extract until smooth.
- In a small bowl, combine the brown sugar and cinnamon to make the cinnamon swirl.
- Pour half of the cake batter into the mug, sprinkle the cinnamon swirl mixture evenly over the top, then add the remaining batter on top.
- Gently swirl the batter with the tip of a spoon to create a cinnamon ribbon.
Cooking
- Microwave on high for 60-90 seconds, checking at 60 seconds for doneness. The cake should look set but still tender in the middle.
- Allow it to cool for a minute before enjoying.
Serving
- If desired, drizzle a simple glaze on top before serving by mixing powdered sugar with a little milk.
Notes
For best results, use a larger mug to prevent overflow. Add a little more cinnamon if you prefer a bolder flavor. Let the mug cake sit briefly after microwaving to set before eating.
