Preparation
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease a baking pan.
- In a large mixing bowl, combine all-purpose flour, sugar, baking powder, and salt.
- In another bowl, whisk together maple syrup, milk, and melted butter.
- Pour the wet ingredients into the dry ingredients, mixing until just combined.
Baking
- Spread the batter into the prepared baking pan and smooth the top.
- Bake for 25 minutes or until a toothpick inserted comes out clean.
- Let the bars cool in the pan for 10 minutes before removing them to cool completely on a wire rack.
Glazing
- In a small bowl, whisk together the powdered sugar, maple syrup, and milk until smooth.
- Once the bars have cooled, drizzle the glaze over the top.
- If using, sprinkle chopped nuts or cinnamon on top of the glaze.
Notes
These bars are perfect with a cup of coffee or tea. They can also be frozen for later use. To reheat, simply warm them in the microwave for a few seconds.
