  • 2 cups All-purpose flour Sifted for a lighter texture
  • 2 tbsp Sugar Adjust sweetness to preference, brown sugar adds depth
  • 1 tbsp Baking powder
  • 1 tbsp Ground cinnamon Adjust based on preference
Wet Ingredients
  • 1/2 cup Cold unsalted butter To achieve a flaky consistency
  • 3/4 cup Milk Add gradually to avoid overmixing

Method
 

Preparation
  1. Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C).
  2. In a mixing bowl, combine the sifted flour, sugar, baking powder, and cinnamon.
  3. Using a pastry cutter or your fingers, cut the cold butter into the dry mixture until it resembles coarse crumbs.
  4. Gradually add the milk and fold gently into the mixture until just combined.
  5. Avoid overmixing to keep scones light and fluffy.
Baking
  1. Turn the dough out onto a floured surface and shape it into a circle about 1-inch thick.
  2. Cut the dough into wedges and place them on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper.
  3. Bake in preheated oven for 15-20 minutes or until golden brown.
Serving
  1. Remove the scones from the oven and let them cool slightly before serving warm.
  2. Enjoy them on their own or with jam, butter, or cream.

Notes
